This 5K is held annually in honor of Chance Mark Jones, a little boy who was taken too soon due to child abuse, and to raise awareness of child abuse. The 5K will raise funds for the many charitable activities of the Clarendon Lions Club, which include eyeglasses for local school-age children, Christmas food baskets for local families, support for Snack Pack 4 Kids at Clarendon Elementary, hosting the local office of The Bridge – Children’s Advocacy Center, scholarships, continued park improvements, and monetary support to other local charities.
Event registration is $30. Registrations received by March 29, 2024, will receive an event t-shirt. Online registrations are subject to a $2 processing fee.
In-person registration can be done at the Clarendon Visitor Center, M-F from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The year’s 5K will again start and end at the Courthosue and will run through the city, around Prospect Park, and past several historic sites.
